Basic skills
The Core: Reading, Writing, Mathematics
Praxis® Core Academic Skills for Educators — three tests that can be taken together or separately, and the gate most programs put in front of admission.
It is not a hard test. It is the one candidates most often underestimate.

Scores are reported on a scaled range and the passing score is your state’s, not the vendor’s — the same test passes at different numbers in different states, and a few states accept an admissions test in place of it. Confirm yours before you plan a retake around a number.
The mathematics section is where this test surprises people. Candidates who have not touched arithmetic reasoning, ratios or basic algebra since their own school years sit down expecting it to come back and find that it does not. That is a foundation problem rather than a test-taking problem, and it is exactly what the engine is for: when a miss traces back to something more basic, you get the short refresher on that thing rather than another practice set on the same question type.

The teacher’s legal and ethical obligations, the reflective practices the standards expect, and working with colleagues, specialists and families.
Every key on this test names its source. A pedagogy question is a claim about what good teaching is, and here the rationale tells you which teaching standard, statute or research consensus the correct answer derives from. That turns a section most candidates experience as guesswork into something with a learnable structure — and it is the single thing about this product that a study guide cannot copy without doing the same work.
Elementary Education Fundamentals
The Elementary Tests Were Rebuilt.
Most Study Material Was Not.
ETS replaced the long-standing elementary series with four Fundamentals tests, priced and scheduled per subject, with an option to take them in smaller modules.
Every bank written for the old series is now describing a test that no longer exists in that form.

Each is priced separately — $79 at the relaunch, with discounted bundles and a modular option that lets a candidate sit one part at a time. The legacy elementary content-knowledge test remains available while ETS retires the older series. Fees and availability are the vendor’s and they change; confirm the current figures when you register, and register with the vendor rather than with us.
Why this one matters more than a format note: half of every elementary cohort fails at least one subtest, and the four subjects are examined separately — so a candidate who passes three and fails one pays and waits for one, not four. A profile that already knows which social-studies era or which reading-science objective cost them the points is worth considerably more on that retake than another bank of questions. That is the case for a subscription over a per-title purchase, stated as plainly as we can put it.

Composed From the Subjects Themselves
Mathematics, English language arts, the sciences, history and social studies, Spanish, music, art, physical education, health, business, computer science, agriculture, technology education, reading specialist and the rest.
Each is a test of a subject, so each is built from that subject.
The secondary mathematics test runs 66 questions in three hours with an on-screen calculator, and roughly a quarter of it asks you to teach the mathematics rather than only to do it. The English language arts test runs 130 questions in two and a half hours; social studies runs 130 in two. Each has a published framework with section weights, and every practice form here is composed to those weights rather than to a round number — so a practice test feels like a rehearsal instead of a sampler.

Your content test is composed from the subject courses that carry a student through advanced high-school work, at the depth your test’s framework declares. Not a study guide compressed from a textbook — the subject.
So the gap is nameable
Missing questions in one framework category tells you very little. Missing them because a particular concept never quite landed tells you what to do tonight, and that is the level the engine works at.

Diagnosing the misconception behind a student’s error, choosing the representation that makes an idea land, sequencing a concept — a separate skill from knowing the content, examined as one, and practiced as one.
Timed forms, composed fresh
No two practice tests are the same, so there is nothing to exhaust and nothing to pass by remembering. Pacing on a three-hour test is its own skill and should not be learned for the first time on the day.

The Paraprofessional Test
ParaPro Assessment® — 90 questions in two and a half hours, covering reading, writing and mathematics, and the application of each in a classroom.
The passing score is your district’s or your state’s, and it varies.
This is the test standing between a lot of people and a classroom job they are already doing well, and it is the one most likely to be taken by somebody who has been out of school for twenty years, is paying for it themselves, and has nobody preparing them for it. It is included in the subscription at the same price as everything else, and Teaching Foundations — which covers exactly the reading, writing and mathematics skills it examines — is free with no card.
- The three skill areas and, separately, the application items — what you would actually do with a small group, which is half the test and the half a skills review misses
- Scores are scaled rather than a percentage, and the cut is set locally — find out yours before you judge a practice result against it
- The same adaptive engine as every paid course: it finds the gap and teaches to it rather than handing you a review packet
- If you go on to a certification test later, nothing you proved here is thrown away
Waiting 28 days
The Retake Is Not a Footnote.
It Is Half of This Market.
A failed Praxis test can be retaken after 28 days, with no limit on attempts.
Some state series cap them — Texas allows five per test — and every attempt costs the fee again.
Four weeks is an awkward amount of time. It is too long to coast on what you remember and too short to start over, and what a candidate needs in it is not another full course — it is the specific thing that cost them the points, drilled until it is not the specific thing any more. That requires a product that remembers the first attempt.
- Your profile survives the wait. Come back in four weeks and the engine still knows which framework categories were solid and which one was not, so the second run is not a repeat of the first.
- You pay for the months you study, not for a window that started when you first bought. Switch off after the test, switch on when the retake is booked.
- Where a subtest failed, only that subtest is the work. The elementary tests and several state series examine subjects separately, and so does the plan the engine builds.
- Retake rules and attempt limits are your state’s and the vendor’s. They differ and they change — check the current rule before you count on a date.
